About Me

My experience

With a long career in education as a classroom teacher, curriculum leader and school principal, I have worked alongside educators and parents to better understand foundational, developmental and environmental factors that can influence a child’s learning, behaviour and everyday functioning.

I understand that many learning challenges are not simply cognitive or academic based. They can be linked to underlying developmental influences, trauma or neuromotor immaturity that are often missed, even when well-intended supports and interventions have already been put in place.

As a mother and grandmother, I bring personal experience, understanding and empathy, knowing that development, learning and milestones don't always follow a predictable path.

My Approach

Using accredited neurodevelopmental approaches, I help identify indicators that may be behind learning and functional challenges and support with tailored daily sequential movement strategies designed to improve learning, regulation and everyday function. My background in classrooms and educational leadership bring both practical insight and a deep understanding of the school context.

My approach is compassionate, supportive and empathetic, looking deeper, recognising each child as an individual with strengths, who may also have foundational challenges impacting their learning success and daily function.

I assist educators to gain conceptual understanding and practical insight into the neurological and physical foundations that can influence learning, assisting them to connect physical development, reflex integration, sensory-motor function and nervous system maturity with observable learning behaviours.  I offer practical, strengths-based ways to look more broadly at body - brain connections to better understand children and how they develop, learn and thrive.

My Credentials

I bring together extensive classroom education and principal leadership experience along with specialised neurodevelopmental training to offer informed, practical support for children, families and educators.

  • Accredited INPP™ practitioner in neurodevelopmental assessment and support
  • Bachelor of Education with 40 years of experience in education and school leadership
  • Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) qualified in supporting the implementation of trauma-informed, wellbeing-focused strategies into school culture and daily routines in classrooms
  • BodytoBrainLearning@School™ Regional Facilitator, helping educators understand how neuromotor and sensory maturity support learning

My passion for this work is grounded in the belief that when we understand the whole child, we are better placed to identify what's happening for them and to support learning, daily function, wellbeing and overall confidence.
